On November 23, 2009 Cliff Natural Resources Inc had entered into a bidding war with Noront that had only lasted a few rounds, since Cliff Natural Resources is a much bigger mining company, with more assets, and therefore Cliffs “ friendly bid,”  worth about $200-million in stock, and as of now is the only offer so far on the table. The offer translates to a very unfair $1.00 in shares of Cliffs.
